Shop around. After you’ve done a little road work call up a few salvagers in you area and get some quotes. If you know how much their getting per pound and what parts they can sale to make it more worth their time, then you can keep from getting taken to the cleaners.
The next place to look is the old fashion way of finding Acura parts or parts for any other model: the junk yard. Find your local junk yard. You will have to likely wade through the rows of junked cars to find Acuras, but once you do you will have access to many Acura parts that the yard will likely sell you at a very reasonable price. Make sure you bring your tools, though, because you will likely have to remove the Acura part yourself and the junk yard is not in the business of loaning out tools.
I really enjoyed getting ready for our move and proudly displayed all the boxes I packed up and filled with my stuff in one corner of the garage. You may not find any auto supply outlet with access to car parts for a ’49 Studebaker pickup or a ’32 Ford, but you may very well find 2000 chevy malibu yards with cars that are being sold for parts.
Well Known Auto Stores: Almost every single one of the major players in the auto parts industry has a website from which shoppers can order parts. A lot of these stores also have the regular “brick and mortar” stores and will let you return internet-ordered parts to those stores (in the event that the part that got delivered to you was not what you ordered or turned out to be the wrong part). Some of the major “brick and mortar” auto parts stores that will also let you order your car parts online are Napa, Carquest, Auto Zone, Pep Boys, Advance Auto Parts and Schucks Auto (known in some areas as CSK Auto).
Decluttering house and garage areas won’t be easy either. You’ll need to make some difficult decisions on what to save and what to throw out. Part of the reason we accumulate so mush useless stuff is because we grow fond of our junk and it is very hard to throw things out. You’ll have to stay strong and tackle each room of your home and make it into a clutter free zone. As each room is organized and decluttered, you’ll feel better and better, but you won’t be at total peace with yourself and your home until your entire house is in order. That means you have to conquer the junk room, attic, and garage too.
