How to Earn Gil in Final Fantasy XIV
FFXIV provides many avenues for players to earn Gil, such as Duty Roulettes (if playing your preferred job) as well as hunts, treasures, and the Challenge Log.
Players can quickly make extra gil before starting a new patch by purchasing low cost materials and selling them on the Market Board. This method offers another quick way to make money quickly.
Crafting
Crafting is one of the best ways to earn gil, selling gear, weapons, food, potions and mounts on the market board to other players for profit. An experienced Crafter may make 5-25 Million Gil in one week through this practice!
Gathering is another effective method for making FFXIV gil. Its greatest profitability comes during patch cycles when new items and nodes are introduced into play.
Treasure map parties can also be profitable – sending you across various worlds in search of rare loot drops that you can sell on the market board to make big profit margins.

These roulettes provide an opportunity for bonus experience and Gil, Allagan Tomestones for endgame gear and Allagan Tomestones as prizes. Queue for these roulettes using the Duty Finder.
Expert Duty Roulette provides players with an opportunity to combine experience, Company seals and Allagan Tomestones up to level 90. Daily participation in this roulette is allowed.
The Leveling Duty Roulette provides a fast way for tanks and healers to level quickly if they can’t run higher level guildhests within reasonable amounts of time.
Retainer Ventures
Retainer ventures offer one of the more reliable means of earning Gil in Final Fantasy XIV. Players can send out retainers on expeditions that yield plenty of rewards such as items, Gil and experience points.
Players looking to embark on retainer ventures must spend special tokens called “Ventures,” which can be obtained by completing levequests or tribal quests. Different venture types cost various amounts of gil; exploration ventures take longer but offer greater experience, potentially yielding rare items (including exclusive minions), while quick explorations do not restrict level or class restrictions and simply yield random loot items.
Treasure Hunts
One of the more reliable ways of earning FFXIV gil is through treasure hunts. While these events can be fun and fast, they do come with some risks and require time investment from you as you search.
Crafting is another effective way of earning large sums of Gil. Crafters can generate substantial gil income by creating high-demand items and selling them on the Market Board for significant profits. Although this requires having access to advanced crafting skills as well as investing in significant melded gear, this method can prove highly lucrative.
Players can make significant amounts of gil through farming and questing as well. Farming banemintes for weaver or mining can yield huge returns over time and bring in thousands of gil.
