Major General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry, Major General Omer Ahmed Bukhari, and Major General Inayat Hussain of the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) have all been elevated to lieutenant general in the Pakistan Army’s significant round of high-level appointments and promotions.

The recently promoted officers have been assigned to their new positions by General Asim Munir, Chief of Army Staff. Lt Gen Inayat Hussain will take over as chief of logistical services (GHQ), while Lt Gen Omer Bukhari would assume the role of Commander 11 Corps (Peshawar).

Lt Gen Bukhari received the sword of honor in the 84 Long Course. Hunza native Lieutenant General Hussain has been awarded the Presidential Gold Medal. Both were serving as deputy chief of staff at GHQ prior to being promoted to three-year general status. The promotions weren’t formally announced, though.

Major Generals Inam Haider Malik, Fayyaz Hussain Shah, Nauman Zakria, Muhammad Zafar Iqbal, Ayman Bilal Safdar, Major General Ahsan Gulrez, Syed Aamer Raza, Major General Shahid Imtiaz, Major General Muhammad Munir Afsar, Major General Babar Iftikhar, Major General Yousaf Jamal, and Major Kashif Nazir were among the officers promoted to the three-star rank, according to the ISPR.

Another noteworthy event is that Lt General Nauman Zakria, the head of logistics staff, was appointed commander of the Mangla Corps, taking over for Lt Gen Ayman Bilal Safdar, who retired early.

Additionally, another recently promoted commander, Lt Gen Inayat Hussain, who formerly held the positions of major general and vice chief of general staff, has taken Lt Gen Zakria’s seat in the CLS secretariat (kudos).
